PardellPR’s client, Nikki King OBE, the CEO of Isuzu Truck (UK) Ltd is a non-executive Director of Auto22 Social Enterprise Ltd. Operating under the trading name Auto22, this unique new social enterprise was launched by the national young peoples’ charity Catch22, which specifically helps young people out of difficult situations and supports them to make positive changes in their lives. Auto22 opened its first garage in Gravesend in 2010, offering servicing and repair for all makes and models of cars and light vans.
Auto22 is a commercial operation which, through its business activities and use of all of its profits, provides real work experience, work placements, training and apprenticeships to unemployed young people within the local community who would not otherwise have this opportunity. Many of the young people will have struggled with their education, and Auto22 will provide a platform to launching their journey towards becoming fully qualified technicians.
Auto 22 subscribes to the Motor Industry Codes of Practice, promising honesty, integrity and outstanding customer service whilst customers will also be assured they are helping a disadvantaged young person find their way in a very difficult world. A team of highly qualified technicians will provide an excellent car servicing and repair facility for local drivers whilst helping young apprentices to understand all the facets of the motor industry.
Frances wrote the press story and announced Nikki’s appointment in the local media, including the Gravesend Messenger and the Gravesend Reporter. She also arranged an interview for Nikki in The Times which was published in March.
Auto22 has now acquired another garage in Paddock Wood, Kent. Frances again wrote the press story and placed it with both the Tonbridge Courier and the Paddock Wood Courier as well as the Gravesend Reporter and Gravesend Messenger.
Frances also did the PR for the official launch of the new Paddock Wood Auto22 garage and secured coverage on BBC TV South East Today, ITV Meridian TV, BBC Radio Kent, KMFM commercial radio, The Paddock Wood Courier, The Kent Messenger Weald edition and four Kent magazines.
“I do want to say a big thank you for your brilliant work on the launch of Paddock Wood. The press exposure really surpassed expectations, and generated lots of interest in Auto22 following this. You did a great job, and I am so grateful.” Richard Mayhew, Managing Director, Catch22 Social Enterprise Ltd
